Preparing to retire from his role as DAI UK’s CEO & Senior Consultant for Curriculum Development at the end of March, Colin Rye writes:

“As I wonder what retirement will look like when I get there after Easter, I give thanks for more than 8 years of involvement with DAI in the UK and internationally.

I shall leave with a sense of satisfaction that I have played a part in coordinating the development of a larger library of non-formal Workshops; with fond memories of places that I have visited whilst facilitating in both the non-formal and MA programmes; with DAI friends around the world and – most of all – thankful for the opportunity that I have been given to touch the lives of leaders with much-needed resources through the tremendous work that DAI continues to do globally.

My decision to retire was not one taken lightly but my wife and I want to honour our 3 remaining elderly parents who, incredibly, represent 275 years of life between them and are deserving of our support. We also hope to spend time travelling and pursuing other interests.

And, of course, there really is no absolute retirement for Christians and we fully expect to continue to be involved in Christian Ministry in various forms. For me, this may include some ongoing involvement with DAI as well as in my own Church and working with the UK Church Administrators Network (UCAN – www.churchadministrators.net) for whom I am a Director.

My thoughts and prayers will remain with DAI and I extend my thanks to all reading this for your prayers and support for me, for DAI UK and for DAI’s precious global ministry.”
